PADI Junior Open Water Diver
- The Junior Open Water Diver (JOWD) training is the first step into the international world of diving.
- The Junior OWD can be completed between the ages of 10 and 15. This certificate can be converted into an “Open Water Certificate” at the age of 15.
- The course is exactly the same as the OWD course for adults! However, upon completion of the diving course, the child is permitted to dive only to a depth of 12 meters and only when accompanied by an adult.
- The course includes practical training in shallow water and four dives in deeper water.
- …and theoretical courses involving books, videos, and conferences, with a total duration of 4 to 5 days.
- With this diving certification, you can dive anywhere in the world (it looks like a smart card with your details on it).

For your diving course, you require a medical diving fitness examination that is no older than three months.
You can also undergo this medical examination near the dive center in Saint-Tropez for approximately € 35. However, we recommend having this done by your pediatrician, as they know you best.

PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver
- An advanced course for the Junior AOWD, which trains you in various specialty areas such as wreck diving, navigation, deep diving, or boat diving.
- It is recommended to complete this course immediately following the beginner course. The Junior AOWD is available for ages 12 to 15.
- This certificate can be converted into the “Advanced Open Water Certificate” at the age of 15.
- The course is exactly the same as the corresponding AOWD course for adults! However, upon completion of the diving course, the child is permitted to dive only to a depth of 18 meters and only when accompanied by an adult.
- At least 5 dives are necessary, 8 are recommended.
- …and theoretical courses involving books, videos, and conferences, with a total duration of 2–3 days.
- A prerequisite is Junior OWD certification or an equivalent certification.
