With the Donator, divers can look forward to one of the most renowned and impressive wreck dives in the Mediterranean. This former cargo ship – later operating under the name Prosper Schiaffino – was built in Norway in 1931, measured 78 meters in length, and sank in 1945 following a mine explosion south of Porquerolles.

Today, the wreck rests perfectly upright on the seabed between Porquerolles and Port-Cros, offering a spectacular silhouette, massive superstructures, and impressive glimpses into a piece of Mediterranean maritime history. With depths ranging from approximately 35 to 52 meters – and currents that can be strong at times – the Donator is a dive site for advanced and experienced wreck divers.

Le Grec

The Grec – also known as the Sagona – is one of the most fascinating wrecks off the Îles d’Hyères. Built in Scotland in 1912, the freighter sank on December 3, 1945, after striking a mine in the channel between Porquerolles and Port-Cros while laden with wine.

Today, the wreck rests upright on a sandy bottom, though separated into two sections, with the severed bow lying a short distance from the main hull. At depths ranging from approximately 35 to 47 meters, divers will discover an impressively overgrown wreck featuring gorgonians, a funnel, a propeller, cargo holds, and an abundance of Mediterranean marine life.
